Natural gas supply has officially begun in Talapker village of the Tselinograd district and the nearby Y. Altynsarin settlement in the Akmola region. The project was implemented by the national company QazaqGaz in cooperation with the regional akimat (administration) and has a total value exceeding 7 billion tenge.

“Across the region, we are gradually implementing projects aimed at improving people’s quality of life — from road repairs and water supply to electricity and now natural gas. Today is a significant day — gas has reached the villages of Ybyray Altynsarin and Talapker. This is an important step forward, and I sincerely congratulate all residents,”
said Marat Akhmetzhanov, Akim of the Akmola region.

The pipeline network, stretching over 200 kilometres, delivers up to 26,700 cubic metres of gas per hour. According to industry representatives, the newly installed pressure regulators and distribution systems will ensure stable and uninterrupted supply to around 7,000 households across the two settlements — a particularly vital improvement given the region’s harsh winter conditions.

“This year, as our company marks its 25th anniversary, we are paying special attention to the Head of State’s directive to strengthen the economic potential of the Astana agglomeration. It is clear that gasification of rural communities in the Akmola region will not only improve living standards but also open up new opportunities for local businesses,”
noted Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz JSC.

In the coming stages, the gasification project will extend across the entire Astana agglomeration, creating better living conditions, stimulating business development, and improving the region’s environmental situation.

“Everything works perfectly — the house is warm and cosy. My family and I are very happy. We no longer have to carry coal or firewood or worry about freezing. Now we just turn on the gas, set the right temperature, and live in comfort,”
said Iman Koibagarov, a 69-year-old pensioner and one of the first residents of Y. Altynsarin village to connect to the gas network.

Earlier, with the participation of the Head of State, the city of Kosshy in the Akmola region was also connected to natural gas.
