Bakhytzhan Taubaev, Co-Managing Director for Strategy and Asset Management at Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and Salavat Agishev, Director of the New Projects Department at QazaqGaz JSC, conducted an on-site inspection of the 1 billion m³ per year Gas Processing Plant under construction at Kashagan. The visit was attended by GPCI specialists and representatives of contracting organisations.

During the meeting, contractors provided updates on the progress of construction and installation works, and outlined their plans for achieving key project milestones by the end of the year.

More than 2,000 specialists are currently involved at the site, including 1,377 direct staff. Around 173 workers are engaged in night shifts. Over 339 units of construction machinery are in operation, with particular attention given to ensuring safe working conditions, including during night-time operations.

Progress in construction and installation works:
Installation of flue stacks has been completed;
Ongoing activities include concreting of foundations, installation and painting of steel structures and service platforms, installation and tie-in of process equipment, and assembly of RVS-5000 and spherical storage tanks (600 m³ each);
Construction of external utility networks (HVK-2) is underway;
At the GPCI workers’ camp, roofing works have been completed on the administrative and accommodation buildings, including two dormitories for 140 and 132 residents. Installation of internal partitions and electrical systems is ongoing in these buildings.

Progress by key work categories:

  • Concrete works for foundations: 56,178 m³ (73.8%)

  • Steel structure installation: 5,768 tonnes (28.6%)

  • Mechanical equipment installation: 4,424 tonnes (45.3%)

  • Storage tank installation: 1,712 tonnes (85%)

  • Underground pipeline laying: 21,810 m (48.8%)

QazaqGaz JSC continues to maintain comprehensive oversight of the project, ensuring adherence to construction schedules as well as compliance with established quality and safety standards at every stage.
