A weekly project meeting was held at the construction site of the 1 bcm Kashagan Gas Processing Plant (GPP), chaired by Meyrbek Ikhsanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz. Representatives of EPC contractors involved in the project participated in the session.
Meyrbek Ikhsanov issued instructions to accelerate progress on key activities — including increasing the number of night-shift workers, expediting the delivery of long-lead equipment, ensuring timely supply of steel structures, and intensifying construction and installation work.
Progress on major workstreams:
Concrete works (CPF foundations): 46,787 m³ — 62.7%
Steel structure installation: 3,079 t — 15.4%
Mechanical equipment installation: 3,165 t — 33.7%
Tank installation: 580 t — 21.4%
Underground pipelines: 15,787 m — 33.8%
Currently, more than 1,800 personnel are engaged on-site, including 1,200 construction workers. Over 300 units of equipment are in operation. To ensure safe and uninterrupted execution of this large-scale project, a comprehensive HSE system is in place. It includes five-tier safety control, regular audits, full PPE provision, 24/7 medical support, and employee insurance. Fire safety is managed by a private emergency service with regular drills involving medical and fire response teams.
