The Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "QazaqGaz" Sanzhar Zharkeshov and the Deputy Akim of the Zhetysu Region Aset Kanagatov inspected the progress of the construction of the main gas pipeline "Taldykorgan-Usharal."
As of today, the construction of the linear part of the new gas pipeline has been completed. The construction of sections passing through obstacles, such as complex natural terrains and underwater crossings, is also nearing completion.
According to the technological scheme of the project, the total length of the pipeline is 302.441 km, with a design pressure of Pp=9.8 MPa. The project also includes the construction of 6 gas pipeline branches and 6 automatic gas distribution stations.
Currently, the construction of all six automatic gas distribution stations: "Kapala," "Zhansugurov," "Sarkand," "Koylyk," "Kabanbay," and "Usharal" has begun simultaneously. The readiness of the stations is scheduled for August of this year.
A total of 148 units of special equipment and 356 workers are involved in the construction. The construction works are under special control and are progressing ahead of schedule.
According to the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "QazaqGaz" Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the project is being implemented at the direction of the Head of State and with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna, and the Akimat of the Zhetysu Region.
"In a significantly short time, the construction of the linear part of the gas pipeline route has been completed, and the construction of six AGDS is in full swing. According to the contract, the completion of the project was planned for the end of 2026, but considering the social significance of the project and the high pace of construction and installation works, the new gas pipeline will be fully ready for the upcoming heating season, i.e., almost a year and a half ahead of schedule," noted Sanjar Zharqueshov.
In this regard, the Deputy Akim of the region Aset Kanagatov spoke about the preparatory work for laying internal networks in the settlements.
"Thanks to the Taldykorgan-Usharal main gas pipeline project, gas will be supplied to 66 settlements in the Aksu, Sarkand, and Alakol districts. We will connect 6 settlements to gas this year, and the remaining 60 next year, including the Aksu Sugar Plant. All these measures are effective for improving the quality of life for the population as well as for the operation of enterprises and production. This will give a significant boost to the development of the regional economy," said A. Kanagatov.
For reference: The construction of the new gas pipeline began in August 2024 during the working visit of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov to the Zhetysu region. 84 settlements in the Aksu, Sarkand, and Alakol districts, where 134 thousand residents live, will have access to natural gas. An additional positive effect will be the growth of business activity, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the creation of new jobs.
