Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov spoke at the plenary "International partnership in the implementation of energy projects" within the framework of the 29th international exhibition and conference KIOGE.
In addition, the session was attended by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almasadam Satkaliyev, the Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, Suhail al-Mazrouei, the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas, Askhat Khasenov, and others.
In his speech, the head of QazaqGaz expressed concern about the pace of the global energy transition. "The world is failing to balance the energy trilemma—energy security, affordability, and smooth transition," he said.
Sanzhar Zharkeshov also discussed the increase in natural gas demand. He noted that, according to forecasts, natural gas consumption will grow by 34% worldwide and by 100% in the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, he noted that Kazakhstan's gas industry is becoming attractive to investors due to the implementation of reforms. These include the introduction of a formula for purchasing new volumes of gas from producers, reforming gas price deregulation, and revising tariffs for gas processing and transportation.
