A round table on supporting domestic manufacturers was held at the national company QazaqGaz. During the event, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the Chairman of the Board of the gas company, spoke about the measures taken to increase the share of local content in purchases.
This significant increase in local content in purchases is a testament to our commitment to supporting the domestic economy. "Over 7 months of this year, QazaqGaz concluded 25 offtake contracts for more than 821 million tenge. Today, at the round table, new offtake contracts were signed with Kazakhstani manufacturers for a total of more than 30 billion tenge," the head of the national company said.
As part of the implementation of the President's order to increase the volume of domestic goods in purchases, QazaqGaz regularly holds meetings with domestic manufacturers at the sites of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan and other organizations. This collaborative approach ensures that the voice of domestic manufacturers is heard and their needs are met.
"Today is a significant day for our company. We hope that signing the agreement will open up broad opportunities for us to work with QazaqGaz to supply a new ball valve type. For us, offtake contracts are stability and an opportunity to plan production and invest in expanding the product line. Thank you, QazaqGaz, for supporting Kazakhstani manufacturers," said Andreas Kefer, Director of Böhmer Armatura LLP.
Domestic manufacturers receive consultations on the procedures for concluding offtake contracts and clarifying procurement procedures and technical specifications.
"QazaqGaz provides priority in tenders for manufacturers of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund. Over seven months of 2024, the amount of purchases made with the participation of domestic manufacturers of the Fund amounted to more than 34 billion tenge," added Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
At the same time, QazaqGaz has developed new procurement rules for joint ventures Asian Gas Pipeline LLP and Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP. The companies adhere to their obligations to support domestic producers, conclude offtake contracts, and develop domestic value in the procurement of goods, works, and services. In addition, mandatory electronic procurement is provided, thereby ensuring the transparency of tenders.
"Today, the state pays great attention to the gas industry's development. It must be admitted that this was not always the case. We were an oil state. Now, the trend has changed for the better. The organization of such events is evidence of this. Specific decisions are made here, and important offtake contracts are signed," said Anatoly Tegisbayev, a veteran of the gas industry and member of the Board of Directors of JSC NC QazaqGaz.
The work of JSC NC QazaqGaz in the context of increasing local content is carried out with the strong support of the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Energy, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan, as well as the Government and the Samruk-Kazyna Fund. This collective support reassures us of the success of our initiatives.
