Today, a solemn event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Amangeldi field was held in the Zhambyl region. In honor of the anniversary, a ceremonial meeting and awarding of the best employees was held at the area with the participation of the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Meirbek Ikhsanov, honored workers, production personnel of QazaqGaz Exploration and Production and gas industry veterans. According to the deputy chairman, the Amangeldi field was one of the most significant gas projects implemented during the years of Kazakhstan's independence.
"The Amangeldinskoye field was the first gas project for subsoil use in the independent history of Kazakhstan, implemented at the expense of budget funds without the participation of foreign capital and investments. For 20 years, the field has been supplying the southern regions of Kazakhstan with natural gas and is a strategically important enterprise in the country's energy sector," noted Meirbek Ikhsanov.
The Amangeldy group of fields is located in the Moyynkum and Talas districts of the Zhambyl region, 190 km north of the city of Taraz. Geological exploration work in the area began back in 1947. The exploitation of the field only started in 2000.
Amangeldy Gas LLP was registered in August 2003 to operate the field. On October 22, 2022, based on the decision of the Board of Directors, QazaqGaz NC JSC was transformed into QazaqGaz Exploration and Production LLP. All new subsoil-use projects will be consolidated in the "QazaqGaz Exploration and Production" structure. Today, the Exploration and Production company QazaqGaz is systematically expanding its natural gas resource base. Last year, the company's portfolio was replenished with the Pridorozhnoye field, whose recoverable gas reserves amount to about 10 billion cubic meters. It is planned to launch the Anabay field by the end of this year.
Currently, the company employs 160 people, and about 500 employees work in contracting and service companies.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the field, the Exploration and Production QazaqGaz company is implementing several social and cultural projects in the Zhambyl region.
Thus, the company is implementing a project for dual training students directly in production. At the same time, educational grants have been allocated for children from socially vulnerable families. In several villages in the Talas region, children's, sports, and workout grounds have been built, and roads and parks have been repaired.
