Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, in a teleconference mode, launched the supply of gas through the second line of the Beineu-Zhanaozen gas pipeline with a length of 308 km. Its construction was carried out within the Comprehensive Plan for the Social and Economic Development of the Region for 2021-2025.

Currently, the Mangistau region has the highest natural gas consumption in Kazakhstan. In particular, last year, the region accounted for 2.8 billion cubic meters, 19% of the total demand of the republic's domestic market.

Launching the second line of the Beineu-Zhanaozen main gas pipeline will ensure a stable gas supply to populated areas, extensive industrial facilities, and the leading energy enterprise of the Mangistau region - MAEK LLP, which generates thermal and electrical energy.

In his speech, Alikhan Smailov noted that the project was implemented on behalf of the Head of State and is of great importance for the region's economic development.

Thus, the throughput capacity of the second string of the Beineu-Zhanaozen gas pipeline is 5.8 billion cubic meters per year. Previously, the Okarem-Beyneu gas pipeline along this route ensured just over 3 billion cubic meters of pumping. Now, the total throughput capacity of the two gas pipelines will reach about 9 billion cubic meters. meters per year, which fully covers the needs of the region.

"The supply of blue fuel will actively contribute to the economic development of the Mangistau region. At the same time, implementing this project will contribute to strengthening our country's energy security as a whole," said Alikhan Smailov.

During the facility's construction, modern technologies in constructing main pipelines were used, as well as reliable means of protection against corrosion. In addition, equipment and materials from domestic producers were involved.

As noted by the Chairman of the Board of the national company QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, about 180 billion tenge were invested in the construction project of the new Beineu-Zhanaozen gas pipeline at the expense of QazaqGaz's funds and Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

"This is a significant contribution to the economic development and energy security of the Mangistau region," he said.

At the same time, work on the overhaul of three lines of the large Zhanaozen-Zhetybay-Aktau gas pipeline was completed. The launch of the second Beineu-Zhanaozen line is a big step in the modernization of the gas transportation system of the Mangystau region.

Akim of the region Nurlan Nogaev emphasized that implementing these projects will contribute to developing small and medium-sized businesses and will also generally open up new opportunities for Mangistau.

"During his working trip, the Head of State was instructed to ensure an uninterrupted regional gas supply. On behalf of the residents of the Mangistau region, I would like to express my gratitude to the QazaqGaz company, which completed the construction and repair of the main gas pipelines on time and in full," said Nurlan Nogaev.

"I congratulate everyone on completing these important projects," concluded Alikhan Smailov, closing the ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by heads of central and local executive government agencies, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the national company QazaqGaz, current employees, and veterans of the gas industry.
