Chairman of the Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC Sanzhar Zharkeshov held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Mohamed Hamel, at the organization's headquarters in Doha (Qatar). The head of the national company noted excellent prospects for cooperation in the gas sector and welcomed the initiatives of the GECF.
"We see great prospects for cooperation with the GECF in the gas sector and express our readiness to use the potential in this area effectively," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
The organization's members account for 72% of proven reserves and 56% of global gas exports. Cooperation with the GECF will be essential for developing Kazakhstan's gas industry.
The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is an international intergovernmental organization headquartered in Doha, Qatar, uniting 12 natural gas supplying countries: Algeria, Bolivia, Venezuela, Egypt, Iran, Qatar, Libya, Nigeria, UAE, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea.
The main goals of the organization: ensuring the sovereign rights of member countries to their natural gas reserves and the ability to independently plan and provide environmentally sustainable, careful, and efficient development and use of gas, exchange of experience, opinions, and information on critical aspects of the development of the gas industry.
