Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, participated in the plenary session "Global Integration: Kazakhstan's Role in New Energy Chains" of the 30th International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference KIOGE 2026.
During his speech, he presented key projects for the development of Kazakhstan's gas infrastructure, including the construction of gas processing plants in Karachaganak and Kashagan, as well as the second line of the Beineu–Bozoi–Shymkent main gas pipeline.
"Collectively, the projects cover the entire chain from the resource base to the consumer: new processing facilities increase the volume of marketable gas, and transport projects ensure its delivery," Alibek Zhamauov said.
Special attention was paid to the Karachaganak Gas Processing Plant with a capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of crude gas per year. In April 2026, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan designated QazaqGaz as the operator of the project. On September 15, the company signed an agreement on its implementation with Hyundai Engineering and SICIM. The main terms of the EPC contract are currently being worked out and the FEED stage documentation is being developed.
The implementation of the project will increase the volume of crude gas processing and expand the resource base of commercial gas within the country. Additional volumes will be used to ensure stable gas supply to the utility sector and industry, including during periods of seasonal demand growth.
According to the head of QazaqGaz, the comprehensive development of infrastructure will increase the reliability and flexibility of gas supply, ensure effective communication between the resource base and the end user, and create conditions to meet the growing domestic demand for marketable gas.
