Ulan Burkitov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Exploration and Prospective Projects at JSC “NC QazaqGaz,” conducted a field inspection of the Amangeldy gas field located in the Zhambyl region. The visit focused on the ongoing development of the Barkhannaya field and the construction of a gas pipeline connecting it to the Gas Treatment Facility (GTF).
The project encompasses the creation of a modern gas collection system, construction of a gas gathering station, and the installation of the Barkhannaya–Amangeldy pipeline along with associated power transmission lines (PTLs).
Currently, earthworks are underway along the route of the Barkhannaya–Amangeldy pipeline. Preparatory activities are also in progress for the installation of power lines and the laying of Ø219x7 mm pipeline segments. Construction and installation works are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
During the visit, Mr. Burkitov also reviewed ongoing drilling operations conducted by LLP “QazaqGaz Exploration & Production” within the company’s contracted territory. As part of the Anabay field development project—aimed at extracting gas from the Devonian horizon—drilling of two production wells, No. 17 and No. 18, has been successfully completed.
These efforts are being carried out in line with directives issued by the Head of State and align with QazaqGaz’s strategic objectives to expand the company’s gas resource base. The national company has developed a clear action plan to accelerate the implementation of key exploration projects in the shortest possible timeframe.
