Significant infrastructure projects to improve the population's quality of life and support the regional economy continue to be implemented in the Akmola region. As part of implementing the Address of the Head of State on the gasification of settlements, residents of Zhibek Zholy village in the Arshaly district received access to natural gas.
Gasification of a large settlement will allow more than 2,000 households to be connected to the gas supply system by the end of this year,
and the total coverage will be more than 6,000 households. The gas pipeline length in the village of Zhibek Zholy is about 250 kilometers.
The official launch ceremony was held with the participation of the region's Akim, Marat Akhmetzhanov, the chairman of the board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshev, and deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The main task set by President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev is to improve the population's standard of living. Today, the villagers are provided with natural gas, one of this work's most important areas. This year, 12 projects for gasification of settlements are being implemented in the region, covering about 125 thousand people," the regional akim emphasized.
"Gas connection is not just an improvement in living conditions for residents, it is an important step towards the sustainable development of settlements. The national company QazaqGaz is constantly working to ensure energy security
and improve the quality of life in every region of the country," emphasized Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
Among the first subscribers to be connected was the family of Elvira and Esirkeppay Orazov.
"This is a very joyful and long-awaited event for our family. Our 5 grandchildren live with us, and we try to make their life comfortable," the head of the family notes.
In addition, the Arshalynsky district provides one-time social assistance to reimburse the costs of connecting and installing gas equipment for socially vulnerable citizens. The amount of assistance is up to 100 MCI (369,200 tenge), depending on actual costs. Funds can be received by owners of registered and permanently residing housing in the Arshaly district.
For the convenience of citizens, a service center has been opened in the akimat, where residents can get all the necessary assistance in submitting documents for gas connection and receiving social assistance,
as well as housing registration services. Registration is also carried out here to update population data,
which is essential for accurately calculating gasification costs.
In 2022, 16 settlements located along the main gas pipeline route were gasified in the region. 8.9 billion tenge were allocated for the project's implementation. Gasification is also planned to cover the Tselinograd district.
