A working meeting took place in Awaza between the Kazakh delegation and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, as well as Ashirguly Begliyev, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas affairs. The talks were held on the sidelines of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev’s participation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
The Kazakh delegation included Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” Sanzhar Zharkeshov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev.
The parties discussed Kazakhstan’s potential involvement in the development of Turkmenistan’s largest gas field, Galkynysh, with the participation of an international investor.
Both sides emphasized the strategic importance of deepening bilateral cooperation in the gas sector and expressed mutual interest in advancing joint projects.
