The gasification of Kosshy, one of the fastest-growing urban settlements in Akmola Region, has been completed. Following the launch of the second and third phases of the project, residents of all the city’s neighbourhoods, as well as the Lesnaya Polyana residential area and Diamond Park residential community, gained access to natural gas. With all centralised gas supply facilities now operational, 72,500 residents, or 14,800 subscribers, have gained access to cleaner fuel.
As part of the final stages of the project, 194 kilometres of gas pipelines and 24 cabinet-type gas pressure regulating stations were commissioned. Overall, more than 357 kilometres of gas distribution networks were built to gasify the city, along with one modular and 44 cabinet-type gas pressure regulating stations. To date, 1,284 subscribers in Kosshy have been connected to the gas supply network, bringing the city’s gasification rate to 9%.
The official ceremony marking the launch of the natural gas supply was attended by Akmola Region Akim Marat Akhmetzhanov and Chairman of the Management Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC Alibek Zhamauov.
The first phase of the Kosshy gasification project was commissioned in September 2025. At that stage, 163 kilometres of gas pipelines were built, providing 7,800 subscribers with access to natural gas.
The gasification of the city will create conditions for the further development of its infrastructure, improve residents’ quality of life and attract new natural gas-consuming industries.
Currently, 24 settlements in Akmola Region have access to natural gas. In 2027–2028, a further 12 settlements in the Arshaly and Tselinograd districts are planned to be gasified.
