Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz National Company JSC, visited key gas infrastructure facilities in the Turkestan Region. In particular, he inspected operations at the Poltoratskoye underground gas storage facility, where gas is currently being injected to build up winter reserves. Particular attention is being paid to industrial safety.
Commissioned in 1964, the storage facility is located in the village of Zhibek Zholy. With a capacity of 350 million cubic metres of gas, it plays an important role in supplying the Turkestan Region and Shymkent. QazaqGaz intends to continue its modernisation.
Earlier, QazaqGaz Group management discussed preparations for the autumn and winter period in Shymkent. To date, gas infrastructure facilities across the country are 91% ready.
As part of preparations for the heating season, gas pipelines are being inspected, equipment is being repaired and checks are being carried out. Preparations are scheduled for completion by September, after which the facilities will be issued with certificates of readiness.
