Batyrzhan Tergeusizov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for New Projects at JSC “NC QazaqGaz”, carried out a field inspection of the Kashagan gas processing plant, designed to process 1 bcm of gas annually. The visit was attended by GPCI specialists and representatives of contracting organisations.

During the meeting, contractors presented updates on construction and installation works and reported on plans to achieve key project milestones by the end of the year.

Mr Terg e usizov emphasised the need to further accelerate the pace of construction. He instructed tighter control over construction and installation activities, called for continued optimisation of production processes, and stressed the importance of adhering to industrial and fire safety requirements, including during night shifts.

Background
Around 2,000 specialists are currently involved on site, supported by approximately 370 units of construction machinery. Particular attention is given to ensuring safe working conditions, including night operations.

Progress on construction and installation works:

  • Completion of hydraulic tests on an 8,000 m³ storage tank, 2,000 m³ cooling towers, a 5,000 m³ raw water tank and RVS-1000;

  • Hydraulic tests completed on UVK-1 (over 12 km of underground pipelines);

  • Ongoing concreting of foundations, installation of steel structures, mounting of process equipment and service platforms, as well as assembly of RVS-5000, RVS-1000 and 600 m³ spherical tanks;

  • Construction of external utility networks (UVK-2) in progress;

  • At the GPCI camp, roofing has been completed for the administrative complex and two dormitories (132 and 140 places). Partition walls and electrical installation are ongoing in the dormitories and administrative buildings of the permanent camp.

Performance by main work categories:

  • Concrete works for foundations: 52,617 m³ completed (69.7%)

  • Installation of steel structures: 3,974 tonnes (19.6%)

  • Installation of mechanical equipment: 4,116 tonnes (42.5%)

  • Tank installation: 1,164 tonnes (43%)

  • Underground pipeline installation: 18,659 m (38.4%)

JSC “NC QazaqGaz” continues to exercise comprehensive oversight of the project, ensuring deadlines are met and that established standards of quality and safety are observed at every stage of construction.
