Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for New Projects at QazaqGaz JSC, Batyrzhan Terguesizov, conducted an on-site inspection of the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant, which will have a capacity of 1 billion cubic metres per year. The inspection was attended by technical experts from GPCI and representatives of the contracting organisations.

During the meeting, contractors presented up-to-date information on the progress of construction and installation works and outlined their plans to achieve key project milestones by the end of the year. Mr. Terguesizov emphasised the need to accelerate construction efforts, instructed teams to tighten control over construction activities, continue optimising production processes, and stressed the importance of industrial and fire safety compliance, including during night shifts.

More than 2,034 specialists are currently engaged at the site, including 1,428 core personnel. Approximately 167 workers are involved in night-time operations, and around 360 units of construction machinery are in use. Special attention is being paid to ensuring safe working conditions, particularly during night shifts.

Progress on construction and installation works:

  • Installation of smokestacks completed;
  • Ongoing foundation concreting, assembly and painting of steel structures, installation and piping of process equipment, and assembly of RVS-5000 tanks and 600 m³ spherical reservoirs;
  • Construction of external utilities (HVK-2) underway;
  • In the GPCI camp, roofing has been completed on the administrative and utility complex (AUC) and on two dormitories for 140 and 132 residents. Partition walls and electrical works are ongoing in both dormitories and the AUC, which form part of the permanent shift village.

Completion by main work categories:

  • Concrete works (foundations): 54,603 m³ — 72% complete

  • Steel structures installation: 4,630 tonnes — 22.9%

  • Mechanical equipment installation: 4,348 tonnes — 44.6%

  • Tank installation: 1,215 tonnes — 44.9%

  • Underground pipeline installation: 20,453 m — 48.4%

QazaqGaz JSC continues to maintain comprehensive oversight of the project, ensuring adherence to construction timelines, as well as full compliance with quality and safety standards at all stages of implementation.
