Batyrzhan Tergeussizov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Capital Construction and New Projects at JSC NC QazaqGaz, conducted a site inspection of the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant, which will have a processing capacity of 1 billion cubic metres of gas per year.

The meeting was attended by specialised experts from GPCI as well as representatives of the contracting organisations. During the session, contractors presented updated information on the progress of construction and installation works and reported on plans to achieve key project milestones by the end of the current year.

Batyrzhan Tergousizov emphasised the need to further accelerate the pace of construction. He instructed the teams to strengthen oversight of construction and installation activities, continue efforts to optimise production processes, and pay particular attention to compliance with industrial and fire safety requirements, including during night shifts.

Background

More than 1,500 specialists are currently involved at the site, including 985 core personnel. Approximately 128 workersare engaged in night shifts. A total of 346 units of construction machinery are in operation. Special emphasis is placed on ensuring safe working conditions, including for night-time operations.

Progress of Construction and Installation Works

  • Foundation works, installation of steel structures, maintenance platforms and process structures are ongoing;

  • Installation of the fire pipeline system is in progress, along with formwork installation and reinforcement of foundations; backfilling and excavation works are being carried out for external utility networks (NVK-2);

  • Sandblasting and painting works are underway on RVS-5000 and RVS-1000 storage tanks;

  • Welding and heat treatment works on spherical tanks have been completed;

  • Installation and painting of steel structures on process units and pipe racks are ongoing;

  • At the shift camp site, works are underway on entrance groups, internal NVK networks, electrical installation, and low-current systems, as well as the construction of internal partitions.

Completion Status of Key Work Packages

  • Concrete works for foundations: 59,381 m³ completed (77.9%)

  • Steel structure installation: 9,766 tonnes (48.4%)

  • Mechanical equipment installation: 4,718 tonnes (48.1%)

  • Tank installation: 1,863 tonnes (92.6%)

  • Underground pipeline installation: 25,150 m (54.2%)
