On 4 April, Chairman of the Management Board Aliбек Zhamauov visited a section of the Sats-4 looping main gas pipeline (km 696–735), where repair works are underway as part of preparations to increase transportation capacity.
As part of the first phase, defective sections of the Central Asia–Centre pipeline system have been repaired and replaced. The completed works have increased the route’s daily throughput from 18 million to 22 million cubic metres.
“We began repairs on the Sats-4 loop last year. Works on the Makat–Kulsary–Opornaya section have already been completed, with the final stretch between Inder and Makat currently in progress. The modernisation is primarily aimed at enhancing the safety of main gas pipelines and ensuring uninterrupted gas transportation. At present, the gas transmission system is ready both for international transit and for supplying the domestic market,” said Aliбек Zhamauov.
The modernisation of the gas transmission system is expected to expand capacity for both international transit and domestic gas supply.
