Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz, inspected the Ulytau region’s gas distribution systems ahead of the 2025–2026 heating season. Following the review, the facilities were deemed 97% ready.

As part of the trip, Zharkeshov met with Ulytau region akim Dastan Ryspekov to discuss winter preparedness, infrastructure modernization priorities, and ensuring safe gas supply for households and industrial consumers.

Zharkeshov also took part in the commissioning of a natural gas connection for a secondary school in Zhezkazgan—the first social facility in the Ulytau region to be connected to gas. The school is part of the national “Comfortable School” project, which aims to eliminate unsafe buildings, reduce three-shift schooling, and create modern learning environments.

Gasification in Ulytau has been advancing rapidly. Over the past year, 1,866 technical permits were issued, including 41 to legal entities. In total, 3,116 consumers have been connected to gas. The first and second phases of five launch complexes have already been commissioned.

By year-end, work is expected to be completed in the village of Kengir, where 442 households and seven social facilities will gain access to natural gas. The region’s largest industrial consumers remain Kazakhmys Smelting and Talap 2023.
