Senior Lead Analyst for Gas Research in China, Tianshi Huang, presented an overview of the dynamics of gas demand and imports in China. According to him, the steady growth in natural gas demand is driven by several factors:

  • The transition of the industry from coal to gas;
  • The expansion of the pipeline network and increased coverage of the population with gas supply systems;
  • The development of the LNG market and the conversion of transport to liquefied natural gas.

Tianshi Huang noted that, considering the projected growth in consumption, China will strive to increase gas import volumes, creating new opportunities for exporting countries, including Kazakhstan.

In the context of the development of Kazakhstan's gas market, Matthew Seigers emphasized the importance of integration into global energy processes and highlighted the potential of QazaqGaz as a key player in the regional market.
