Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC, and Mo Ding’e, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNCEC, discussed the next steps in the construction of a gas processing plant (GPP) at the Kashagan field.
The talks took place in Beijing as part of a working visit by a QazaqGaz delegation. The discussions focused on the current status of the project, completion of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and preparations to move to the EPC contracting stage.
The Kashagan GPP project involves the deployment of advanced licensed technologies for the treatment and comprehensive purification of high-sulphur associated petroleum gas. With a processing capacity of 2.5 billion cubic metres per year, the facility is expected not only to address the treatment of sulphur-containing gas, but also to significantly increase production of purified commercial gas. This will contribute to Kazakhstan’s energy security, support stable supplies to the domestic market and strengthen the country’s export potential.
During the meeting, QazaqGaz and CNCEC discussed the project’s technical and commercial parameters, as well as further coordination of the work.
CNCEC has experience in delivering major chemical and oil and gas projects, including facilities involving complex technological processes. For QazaqGaz, the construction of the Kashagan GPP is one of its key projects aimed at increasing commercial gas production and strengthening Kazakhstan’s gas infrastructure.
Following the talks, the companies agreed to align their work schedules and continue coordinating the contractual documentation required to move to the next stage of the project.
