Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz”, held a meeting with Zhou Xinhui, President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), in China. During the talks, the parties announced their transition to the next stage of the joint project at the “Northern 1” block.
QazaqGaz and JSC “CNPC-AktobeMunaiGas” have signed an agreement to finance the exploration period prior to the approval of a development plan and subsequent industrial production, as well as a joint activity agreement for the “Northern 1” block. These documents pave the way for the start of geological exploration.
“‘Northern 1’ is an important step in expanding the country’s gas resource base. The signing of the new agreements will allow us to promptly move into the practical phase of work and integrate advanced technologies into geological exploration,” noted the head of QazaqGaz.
