Delegations from JSC “NC QazaqGaz” and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) held talks to further develop their partnership.

The meeting included Sanjar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Board at NC QazaqGaz, and Zhang Pingshan, Deputy General Manager of CNPC’s Development and Planning Department. Also participating was Chen Huailong, General Manager of CNPC Central Asia and Russia. The meeting was initiated by CNPC Chairman Dai Houliang ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed plans to expand cooperation, with a special focus on promising projects in gas exploration and production. They talked about jointly developing new fields and strategies to increase Kazakhstan’s gas resource base.

These joint projects are expected to strengthen energy security, ensure stable gas supplies both domestically and internationally, and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies in exploration and production. The parties also explored ways to expand Kazakhstan’s gas sector resource potential and identified opportunities for deepening collaboration.

With over 25 years of experience in Kazakhstan, CNPC remains a key strategic partner for QazaqGaz, actively advancing gas projects in the region.
