Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz National Company JSC, met with Zhao Quanming, General Director of SINOPEC International Energy Investment Holdings in Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation in geological exploration and the development of new oil and gas assets. Particular attention was given to the exchange of expertise, advanced technological solutions and industry best practices in exploration activities.
The parties also explored opportunities for cooperation in low-carbon development. They discussed the potential application of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies as a key tool for reducing the carbon footprint of the energy sector.
As part of the meeting, Sinopec invited representatives of QazaqGaz to participate in the International CCUS Forum. The forum will bring together industry representatives, members of the scientific community and international experts to discuss practical approaches to deploying decarbonisation technologies, share expertise and advance joint sustainable development initiatives.
