Ulan Burkitov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Geological Exploration and Prospective Projects at JSC NC QazaqGaz, took part in the opening of the 2024 SPE Caspian Technical Conference, held for the first time in Atyrau, Kazakhstan’s oil and gas hub. The event attracted over 500 participants, including top experts and industry leaders from around the world.

During the plenary session, Burkitov addressed questions on the Caspian region's strategic importance in the global energy landscape. He highlighted ongoing initiatives in the gas sector and discussed future projects aimed at driving industry growth.

Meiir Sheraly, General Director of the QazaqGaz Scientific and Technical Center, contributed to discussions on energy security and the energy transition, analyzing global trends and the challenges facing the industry.

Technical sessions also featured insights from Makhabbat Duysekova, Senior Manager of Geological Exploration, who emphasized the importance of coalbed methane (CBM) development.

A key session focused on opportunities and challenges for the gas industry in a rapidly evolving energy market. Avazkhan Zupparov, Acting Director of the Exploration and Production Business Development Department, served as moderator. Aray Kaiyrzhanova, Director of Raw Gas Processing, shared updates on QazaqGaz’s ongoing projects in gas transportation and processing.

The SPE Caspian Technical Conference, organized annually by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), is a global platform for knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation in the oil and gas sector.
