QazaqGaz recently held a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management Committee meeting, where the company presented its 2024 workplace safety achievements and outlined key priorities for 2025.

Opening the session, QazaqGaz Chairman Sanjar Zharkeshov highlighted a significant milestone: a 33% reduction in workplace injuries and a full year without a single production-related accident. As part of the company’s “Year of Skilled Professions” initiative, additional incentives will be awarded to frontline workers for their role in maintaining a zero-incident workplace.

“2025 will be a year of major geological exploration projects across Kazakhstan. As operations expand, it is critical that subsidiary and production facility leaders strengthen workplace safety oversight,” Zharkeshov stated.

HSE Director Altay Dzhakubaliyev presented a report on 2024 results and the first quarter of 2025. He also announced the winners of QazaqGaz’s annual HSE performance competition:

  • Best Subsidiary: Intergas Central Asia JSC

  • Best Production Facility: Shymkent Gas Transmission Unit (Asian Gas Pipeline LLP)

  • Best Department: Gas Network Repair Service, Kyzylorda Branch (QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC)

This initiative has proven to be an effective tool in enhancing workplace safety culture.

Looking ahead, QazaqGaz is rolling out new safety initiatives in 2025, including a monthly ranking of production facility managers based on their safety performance. The company will also continue refining protective workwear, integrating both employee feedback and global best practices.

QazaqGaz remains committed to its core principle: employee health and safety come first. Achieving operational excellence with zero injuries continues to be a top priority.
