In Kazakhstan, gas workers have begun preparations for the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024. Over the past season, the country has broken a historical record for using natural gas. The maximum consumption of natural gas in the country was in January. Due to abnormal frosts, up to 95 thousand cubic meters of gas were consumed daily.
According to the forecasts of the national company QazaqGaz, consumption volumes will only grow. Because of this, the load on gas distribution networks can significantly increase. Therefore, preparations for the next heating season have already begun.
“Last December, we saw the peak of gas consumption. At the end of the heating season, we can say with confidence that, thanks to early preparations for the cold winter season, we smoothly passed the heating period and provided the whole country with gas,” said Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz NC JSC.
Active gas consumption is, of course, good, gas workers note, but simultaneously they call on citizens to consciously consume and save gas. Lower the temperature in the boilers and avoid heat loss through windows and doors; insulate the facade, roof, and floor and install energy-saving double-glazed windows.
As part of preparations for the AWP, specialists check the condition of the field's main and gas distribution networks. Experts also advise private sector residents to check the gas equipment in the house and take care of safety. All preparations for the new heating season are planned to be completed by September 1.
The work on the inventory of gas distribution networks is being carried out in full. Subsequently, in the 24-hour mode, work is carried out to identify emergency areas. Five brigades are carrying out restoration work 24 hours a day.
