During his working trip to China, Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, held talks with Chinese partners on a project to build a gas processing plant with a capacity of 2.5 billion m3/year based on raw materials from the Kashagan field.
The main outcome of the meeting was the signing of an agreement for the design, supply, construction and commissioning of the facility (EPCC contract). The document was signed between a subsidiary of the national company, QazaqGaz Processing LLP, and a consortium consisting of China National Chemical Engineering Sixth Construction Company - Kazakhstan Branch, China Wuhuan Engineering Corporation Ltd., AVC Production LLP and C-NRG (Synergy) LLP.
The construction of the new plant is strategically important for Kazakhstan and is being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State. The launch of the enterprise will significantly increase the volume of processing of crude gas from Kashagan, as well as provide the domestic market with additional volumes of commercial gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and sulfur, which will strengthen the energy security and economic potential of the region.
