Ulan Burkitov has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Geological Exploration and Prospective Projects of JSC NC QazaqGaz. Ulan Otaralievich is a graduate of KazNTU, named after K.I. Satpayev and Imperial College London under the Bolashak program, Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering.
He has 20 years of international experience in geological exploration and development of oil and gas fields, asset and capital project management, and digital transformation.
He began his career as a production operator in the Kozhasai field.
He worked at KPO b.v., Kuwait Energy Company (Kuwait), Statoil (Norway), and Shell. He participated in projects in the Norwegian Sea, Egypt, Yemen, and the CIS countries. Over the past 12 years, he has held various positions at Shell, working on the Groningen and underground gas storage projects (Netherlands), Karachaganak, and Kashagan.
As he steps into his new role, Ulan Otaralievich will be entrusted with the strategic responsibilities of geological exploration and expansion of the resource base, implementation of promising projects, and digitalization. His leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company.
It should be noted that recently, changes have taken place in the structure of QazaqGaz, within the framework of which the positions of two members of the Management Board were reduced. The restructuring is being carried out to improve the efficiency of the national company by the instructions of the Head of State.
