The workshop on leadership and trends in the oil and gas industry was organized by QazaqGaz STC, specifically for the active members of the QazaqGaz Young Professionals Council.
The guest at the site for a series of interactive lectures was Darkhan Kalmenov, Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance at QazaqGaz Exploration and Production. He returned from Florence in February after completing Baker Hughes' Senior Leader training.
Program graduate Darkhan Kalmenov noted an overview of macroeconomic models, market dynamics in the energy industry, and Baker Hughes technologies. In addition, constant networking with colleagues from different countries allowed him to understand the vision of different companies better and discuss changes according to the latest trends in the gas industry, which he shared during a workshop with the Council of Young Professionals.
Darkhan Kalmenov said that this year, as part of the program, their graduates were able to attend the annual two-day forum from Baker Hughes with the participation of energy technology leaders from around the world, among whom was the Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
The learning model includes an interactive format of lectures, hands-on, and group sessions with the need to share real-life experiences and case studies. Each specialist has the opportunity to improve their leadership skills and knowledge in the energy industry and strengthen connections with oil and gas industry professionals.
"The management of an Italian university, as a rule, selects no more than 20 people from 15-20 countries for each training program. In 2024, oil and gas sector professionals from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Libya, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Colombia, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan gathered for training in Florence," explains Zhuldyz Seisenbekova, director of the international cooperation department at QazaqGaz STC.
As previously reported, together with Baker Hughes in November last year, a selection was carried out from among QazaqGaz employees for training in intensive programs at Baker Hughes University in Italy. More QazaqGaz employees will now receive this opportunity. This agreement was reached in January 2024 by QazaqGaz STC and Baker Hughes during a trip to Rome as part of the Head of State K-Zh delegation. Tokayev, having signed the corresponding document.
