The Anabay gas field was put into operation in the Moyynkum district of the Zhambyl region.
Exploration and Production QazaqGaz LLP developed the field, reactivated three drilled wells and also built the Anabay – Zharkum gas pipeline. At the moment, all construction and installation work has been completed.
“QazaqGaz is actively working to expand its resource base. The draft road map adopted by the company to increase the volume of commercial gas provides for the implementation and launch of several gas fields, including the new Anabay field. To increase its gas resource base, QazaqGaz is actively working to obtain licenses for geological exploration of subsoil and geological exploration of new areas,” said Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz.
It is expected that in 2023 gas production will be 6.5 million m3, and in 2028 the production level will reach 44 million m3. Gas volumes from the Anabay field will be used to meet the needs of the domestic market.
According to Almas Kuandykov, General Director of Exploration and Production QazaqGaz LLP, the new Anabay field has recoverable reserves of 4 billion m3. The amount of investment in this project amounted to 12 billion tenge. There are plans for further drilling of the field.
We would like to remind you that in November 2022, a new division “Exploration and Production QazaqGaz” was created at NC QazaqGaz JSC through the transformation of Amangeldy Gas LLP.
