During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, QazaqGaz Chairman of the Board Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Gazprom Chairman of the Board Alexey Miller signed agreements on organizing the transportation of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan through Kazakhstan.

The validity period of the signed agreements will be 15 years – until the end of 2040.

These projects will expand the transit potential of Kazakhstan's gas transportation system, increase economic benefits for the Republic's gas industry, and contribute to strengthening regional energy security.

The signing occurred in the presence of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar.

It's worth noting that Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan via the Central Asia–Center gas pipeline were launched on October 7, 2023. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the presidents of three countries: Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Vladimir Putin, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
