QazaqGaz's HSE management committee met at the head office. The heads of regional branches participated in the meeting via videoconference.

During the meeting, the Head of HSE Service reported on key indicators of industrial safety and labor protection for 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. Participants discussed key areas of work for 2024. In addition, the Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, announced that 2024 will be devoted to health protection issues for companies' employees.

"It is necessary to avoid a formal approach to employee health issues. We must understand that QazaqGaz, as a responsible employer, can create safe working conditions for every employee, and we need to make efforts to create safe workplaces," said the head of the national company.

In addition, in 2023, the QazaqGaz group of companies introduced an incentive and impact management program. Under the program, employees can receive incentives for achieving a historic milestone of one year without an accident, safety, and health initiatives or saving a life. At the end of the year, employees of production branches were paid about 1.2 billion tenge.

Work is also underway on digitalization and implementation of digital solutions in production. To ensure transport safety, on-board monitoring systems (IVMS) are installed on wheeled vehicles. The system performs and records the driver's identity when starting the car, fastening the driver's and passengers' seat belts, a sharp increase in speed, and sudden braking. The medical examination system is being automated.

According to Altai Dzhakubaliev, Head of the HSE Service, the QazaqGaz group of companies plans to conduct drills to eliminate major accidents and the consequences of emergencies at production facilities, with the involvement of government agencies.

In addition, environmental protection work is carried out on an ongoing basis. Programs are being implemented to reduce methane emissions, manage water resources, and preserve biodiversity.
