On August 2nd, an event called "Stop ДТП" (Stop Road Accidents) took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, for QazaqGaz employees. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of wearing seat belts while driving. As part of the "Stop ДТП" campaign, the employees were informed about the risks associated with road accidents and had the opportunity to experience the effectiveness of seat belts during a simulated collision. A crash simulator, replicating a frontal collision, was set up at the event.
The event was attended by Gibrat Auganov, the Managing Director of Corporate Governance, Labor Relations, and Occupational Safety at Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the Chairman of the Board at NC "QazaqGaz" JSC.
More than 700 employees from the portfolio companies have already experienced the crash simulator. The simulator operates at a speed of only 12 km/h, but it is enough to understand the impact force during a frontal collision and the importance of wearing a seat belt. Production safety is a priority for Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and such events are regularly conducted.
It is worth noting that the event is part of the implementation of the Action Plan for Occupational Safety for the group of companies at NC "QazaqGaz" JSC in 2023. The "STOP ДТП" campaign started in April 2023 at the premises of NC "QazaqGaz" JSC in Kostanay and has already been conducted in Aktobe, Uralsk, and Atyrau. By the end of the year, the crash simulator will be experienced by employees in central and southern regions of the country.
"Every day, our employees use vehicles for their work duties in cities and other populated areas. Understanding the risks associated with road accidents, QazaqGaz is making efforts to prevent them. These efforts include events like this one and explanatory work," stated Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the Chairman of the Board at NC "QazaqGaz" JSC.
According to the Committee on Statistics, last year alone, Kazakhstan registered over 13,500 road accidents in which almost 20,000 people were injured.
