The “Moyynkum Subsoil” corner, dedicated to the 20-year history of the Amangeldy gas field, began its work within the walls of the Taraz Regional University named after. Dulaty. The corner reflects the history of the development of the subsoil of Moyynkum and its development from the 1960s to the present day. Visitors can get acquainted with the chronology of the past and prospects for the development of the field.
The opening ceremony of the exposition was attended by the General Director of Exploration and Production QazaqGaz LLP Almas Kuandykov, the rector of TarRU Mukhtar Baizhumanov, students, gas industry veterans, and public figures.
“We opened the “Moinykum Subsoil” corner within the university precisely to inform students about the history of the Zhambyl region and the gas field so that young people know the history of their region,” said Almas Kuandykov.
In 2023, the Amangeldy gas field, located in the Zhambyl region, will turn 20 years old. For 20 years, the area has been supplying the southern parts of Kazakhstan with natural gas and is a strategically important enterprise in the country’s energy sector.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the field, the Exploration and Production QazaqGaz company is implementing several social and cultural projects in the Zhambyl region.
Thus, the company is implementing a project for dual training students directly in production. At the same time, educational grants have been allocated for children from socially vulnerable sections of the population. In several villages in the Talas region, playgrounds, sports and workout grounds have been built, and roads and parks have been repaired.
The exhibition organizer is Exploration and Production QazaqGaz LLP.
