Experts and veterans of the gas industry approved the draft Development Strategy until 2033 as part of the transformation of the gas industry and the execution of the instructions of the Head of State.
Based on the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Gas Industry and the Long-Term Strategy of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, QazaqGaz has identified the following strategic areas for work:
- Stimulating change to optimize demand;
- Tariffs and pricing;
- Geological exploration and production;
- Gas processing (gas processing plants);
- Trading operations;
- Gas transmission system and underground gas storage;
- Gas distribution networks;
- Downstream;
- Improving operating and investment activities;
- Development of a highly competent organization;
- Digitalization;
- Preparation for obtaining an ESG rating and entering the IPO.
The above areas will become critical for the distribution of resources and efforts of the QazaqGaz group of companies. The draft Development Strategy was discussed and considered at four Steering Committees for the development of the Development Strategy, as well as at a strategic session with the participation of the main stakeholders of the national company.
Recall that at the end of 2021, QazaqGaz became the National Company. By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 29, 2020 No. 908 "On some issues of privatization for 2021 - 2025", QazaqGaz is working on the company's IPO, including improving the investment and operational attractiveness of the QazaqGaz group of companies in all strategic areas.
