Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov took part in a round table on cooperation in the energy industry within the One Belt - One Road Forum framework. Meeting participants discussed the possibilities of building an Energy Silk Road and the desire for a secure and more inclusive energy future. The round table was attended by heads of the largest oil and gas companies worldwide, including CNPC, Gazprom PJSC, Sinopec, Turkmengaz State Concern, etc.
In his speech, Sanzhar Zharkeshov noted that the gas industry of Kazakhstan can play an essential role in the Energy Silk Road due to the country's resource reserves and unique location.
"Having great transit potential, resources, and gas reserves, Kazakhstan can help itself and other countries. Our country has the potential to become both a transit country and a donor country of energy resources in the region," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
In addition, the head of QazaqGaz invited private oil and gas companies and institutional investors from countries participating in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative to take an active part in cooperation in the field of geological exploration, production, transportation, sales, gas processing, gas chemistry, and gas pipeline construction.
