Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz National Company JSC, chaired a meeting in Shymkent on preparing the Group’s facilities for the forthcoming autumn and winter period. He heard reports from the heads of subsidiary companies and reviewed the progress of measures to ensure infrastructure readiness for the heating season.

Preparations began in April, immediately after the end of the previous heating season. To date, QazaqGaz Group has completed 91% of its planned activities.

Particular attention was given to the condition of the main gas pipelines and major repairs. The annual overhaul plan for the Central Asia–Centre main gas pipeline system provided for the rectification of 4,047 defects. In practice, 4,230 defects have been rectified, representing 104% of the target. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of August.

Gas injection into underground storage facilities is continuing in parallel to build up the reserves required for the winter period.

Repairs to gas regulating stations, cabinet gas regulating stations and electrochemical protection systems are also continuing across the gas distribution network. Further measures are being implemented to address the causes of low gas pressure and reduce the number of emergencies and incidents.

Following the meeting, Mr Zhamauov instructed the relevant teams to maintain continuous oversight of all activities and ensure that identified risks are addressed promptly.
