Within the framework of fulfillment of the instructions of the Head of State on expansion of natural gas resource base, in November of this year NC QazaqGaz JSC signed a contract for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Maldybay area in Zhambyl region.

In accordance with the contract, a subsidiary organization of JSC NC “QazaqGaz” - LLP “Exploration and Production QazaqGaz” developed a project of exploration work, including 2D and 3D seismic survey, restoration and development of previously drilled wells, as well as drilling new exploration wells.

“The year 2025 has been declared the year of geological exploration and capital construction in the national company. But we are accelerating exploration work and have started to show the first results already this year. As part of the exploration work, the abandoned well No. 4G was recovered, which confirmed the productivity of the Lower Visean horizon of the Lower Carboniferous. New gas deposits were discovered. Further work will be carried out to conduct seismic studies and drilling of two more exploration wells,” said Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz National Company.

These activities are the beginning of the development of the Maldybay area. In 2025, it is planned to carry out measures to intensify production by hydraulic fracturing (hydraulic fracturing) with subsequent testing. It is also planned to restore another previously abandoned well.

The video shows a fragment of a short-term flare ignition in the process of well development for production needs.

QazaqGaz Company announced earlier that in a short period of time the drilling of well №17 (3690 meters) of Anabai field in Zhambyl region was carried out, a large inflow of gas was obtained, which confirms the high productivity of the well -120 thousand m3 of gas per day, which is twice higher than the design figure.
