On November 24, the annual HSE forum for employees of the QazaqGaz group of companies was held in Astana. The Chairman of the Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, and the Managing Director for Corporate Governance, Social and Labor Relations and Labor Safety of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Gibrat Auganov, delivered a welcoming speech.
“This year, we have worked hard to reduce injuries in the QazaqGaz group of companies. For managers there is nothing more important than the health and safety of every employee. Therefore, in 2023, we introduced the best global practices in labor protection and developed special clothing for workers according to the new standard. In terms of quality, it is in no way inferior to the workwear of employees of such leading international companies,” said the head of QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
During the event, the concept of occupational safety in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030 and practices for building a healthy enterprise and ensuring mechanical integrity and reliability were presented.
During the forum, Altay Dzhakubaliev, Head of the HSE QazaqGaz Service, presented the company’s labor and environmental protection indicators for ten months of 2023. In particular, he noted a reduction in the number of victims in accidents by 50% compared to 2022. In addition, during 2023, QazaqGaz carried out the “Stop Road Accidents” campaign.
According to the General Director of KazTransGas Onimderi Yernar Kulkybaev, events to inform employees about the importance of seat belts were held in nine cities of the country with the participation of more than 1,000 people.
Heads of branches of QazaqGaz subsidiaries and affiliates spoke at a panel session where they shared their experience implementing the 7 “golden rules” of the zero-injury concept.
At the same time, the management of QazaqGaz and its subsidiaries signed personal commitments in the field of Health & Safety, including General Director of KazTransGas Aimak Bauyrzhan Askarov, General Director of Intergas Central Asia Manas Tasybaev, Chief of Staff of QazaqGaz Didar Sagimbekov, General Director of Asian Gas Pipeline Erseit Kayypov, General Director of KazTransGas Onimderi Yernar Kulkybaev, General Director of Exploration and Production QazaqGaz LLP Almas Kuandykov, First Deputy General Director of Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP Talgat Adilov, General Director of KazRosGaz LLP Nurlan Abdrasulov.
