A specialized auditorium for future gas industry specialists was opened at Satbayev University. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the rector of Satbayev University Meiram Begentayev, as well as the top managers of subsidiaries and affiliates of the QazaqGaz group of companies—a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to K.I. Satpayev was also held.
"QazaqGaz, as a national company, supports specialists and young scientists who have decided to link their work with scientific activity. Our task is to integrate science, innovation, and production. QazaqGaz will apply the latest technological developments of professors, teachers, and specialists in its work and develop the commercialization of Kazakhstani science in the gas sector," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
The auditorium, with a total area of 200 sq.m., is equipped within the framework of the current Memorandum of Cooperation between JSC NC QazaqGaz and Satbayev University regarding training personnel for the gas industry. Asian Gas Pipeline LLP and Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP supported equipping the specialized auditorium.
The room has modern equipment and four blocks: two teaching rooms, one lecture room, and one practical room. In addition, the computers are equipped with Honeywell UniSim Design software for developing projects in the gas industry within the framework of cooperation with Honeywell.
"Today, our students can develop practical skills in conditions close to real production processes. This is one of the examples of our comprehensive cooperation with QazaqGaz, aimed at uniting the efforts of scientists and manufacturers to develop our country's oil and gas sector," said Satbayev University Rector Meiram Begentayev.
In addition, a VR laboratory, "Compressor Station," is installed in the auditorium. The laboratory allows students to study technological processes and safety precautions. The 180-degree video technology will enable you to immerse yourself in the production process without visiting an actual workplace, reducing the time for repeated briefings and on-site training in the long term.
The auditorium will be used by students and employees of the QazaqGaz group of companies to conduct advanced training courses and research activities and organize the educational process.
At the end of the event, Sanzhar Zharkeshov held a meeting with students and young employees of subsidiaries and dependent organizations of JSC NC QazaqGaz. As part of the interactive lecture, the head of QazaqGaz answered questions and shared advice for future specialists.
