A new underground high-pressure gas pipeline with a length of 60 kilometers was put into operation in Aktau. The new highway will provide gas to the resort area and the regional center itself and will positively impact the implementation of new projects.
The solemn event dedicated to the launch of the new gas pipeline was attended by Kanat Kulzhanov, Deputy Akim of the Mangistau Region, Gibrat Auganov, Managing Director of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, Akbar Tulegenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, and Khakim Maksut, General Director of KazTransGas Aimak JSC.
Kanat Kulzhanov, Deputy Akim of the Mangistau Region, stressed that the launch of a high-pressure gas pipeline from the AGTS near the village of Kuryk to the Sarsha area in the Warm Beach resort area and the Rixos Aktau hotel by the instructions of the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will allow the city of Aktau to increase additional gas volumes.
- Including will have a positive impact on the implementation of new projects implemented in the Mangistau region. At the same time, the launch of the gas pipeline stimulates the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, including the industrial, municipal, and household sectors, that use gas for their own needs. In addition, the implementation of the project will create new jobs. This will reduce the unemployment rate in the region. We hope that the project will positively impact the economy of the area and the country as a whole," said Kanat Kulzhanov.
The new pipeline connects the village of Kuryk with the Sarsha area and the Warm Beach resort area in the suburbs of Aktau. This project was implemented following the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan by a subsidiary of JSC "NC" QazaqGaz "- JSC" KazTransGas Aimak.
According to Akbar Tulegenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, the new pipeline will provide blue fuel for the resort area and production and resort facilities.
- Laying a gas pipeline to the Sarsha area will make it possible to gasify industrial, resort facilities, and facilities for warm premises located on this territory for the production of agricultural products. This, in turn, will give impetus to the region's economic development and tourism potential. In general, QazaqGaz is implementing several investment projects in the Mangistau region at its own expense for more than 260 billion tenge, Akbar Tulegenov said.
He mentioned that in 2022, 85 km of gas pipelines and one automatic gas distribution station with a capacity of 80,000 cubic meters per hour were built.
During the event, it was also noted that the gasification of coastal areas would help develop their resort potential and ensure year-round operation. This is especially important given the ever-growing tourist flow to the Mangistau region.
Five existing recreation centers will be connected to the new gas pipeline, and future hotels and entertainment centers are planned to be built here. One resort area, "Warm Beach," will consume about 20 thousand square meters of gas per hour.
According to Gibrat Auganov, Managing Director of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, gasification will also solve the water shortage problem in the region. One of the primary consumers of new gas volumes should be a gas-fired desalination plant, which is planned to be built here.
The plant will consume up to 21 thousand cubic meters. m of gas per hour. These needs are already included in the throughput capacity of the gas pipeline, which is launched today.
The demand for gas from this enterprise will be greater than all the hotels and shopping malls in the Tyoplyi Plyazh resort area combined. The capacity of the desalination plant will be up to 50 cubic meters. m per hour. Residents will receive an additional 1.2 million liters of drinking water daily.
- Water supply of the Mangistau region is a priority for the companies of the Samruk-Kazyna group, many of which work here. We are already actively engaged in this: we are expanding the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline, building new desalination plants in Karazhanbas and the village of Kenderli, - said Gibrat Auganov.
It was also noted that gasification would also give impetus to the development of agriculture in the region. Due to the harsh desert conditions, there is practically no farmland in the Mangistau region. Agricultural products are produced in greenhouses, which require fuel to operate.
The needs of agricultural producers for gas are already included in the throughput capacity of the gas pipeline, which is being launched today. For example, peasant farms and greenhouses in the Karakiya and Munaily districts will receive an additional 36.5 thousand cubic meters. m of gas per hour. This is more than the gas demand of all the hotels and shopping malls in the Tyoplyi Plyazh resort area.
