QazaqGaz is strengthening its nationwide efforts to inform residents of gas-supplied areas about the rules for the safe use of natural gas. Specialists from the subsidiary, QazaqGaz Aimaq, are conducting awareness campaigns, inspections and equipment checks to help ensure public safety during the heating season.

In the West Kazakhstan Region, the local production branch carried out an information drive among residents. Working together with the Department for Emergency Situations and the Uralsk city administration, gas specialists reminded the public of the rules for safe and proper handling of natural gas, inspected household gas appliances and explained key steps for preventing gas poisoning and accidents.

Meanwhile in Astana, QazaqGaz Aimaq launched a large-scale awareness campaign for residents of gas-supplied private homes. Staff from QazaqGaz Aimaq, accompanied by representatives of government agencies, visited gasified neighbourhoods of the capital, including the South-East district. Specialists inspected household gas systems and checked whether homeowners had valid maintenance contracts for their indoor gas equipment.

QazaqGaz also recommends installing gas detectors — devices that can identify gas leaks and trigger an alarm when concentrations exceed safe levels, helping to prevent dangerous situations in good time.

Residents are urged to ensure they have valid contracts with accredited companies for the maintenance of indoor gas systems. Qualified technicians should carry out annual checks of pipe integrity, equipment casings and valves, ensure joints are sealed properly, clean burners and flues, and perform other essential servicing tasks.

“We are explaining the importance of having a working gas detector and checking that residents hold valid maintenance contracts with specialised companies. These contracts must be renewed every year. The servicing organisation is required to inspect gas equipment before the start of the heating season,” said Talgat Sidakov, an emergency service specialist from the Astana branch of QazaqGaz Aimaq.
