Natural gas has now been supplied to the village of Koyandy in the Tselinograd district of the Akmola region, as part of the mandate set by the Head of State to strengthen the economic potential of the Astana agglomeration. The project was delivered by the national company QazaqGaz and its subsidiary QazaqGaz Aimaq, in partnership with the Akmola regional administration and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A gas pipeline network stretching over 226 kilometres has been constructed, with a transmission capacity of around 30,000 cubic metres per hour. Newly installed pressure-regulating and distribution equipment will ensure stable, uninterrupted supply of natural gas to five thousand households. The emergency and dispatch service of QazaqGaz Aimaq’s Astana production branch operates around the clock, proactively informing residents about the safe use of gas in the home.

The official launch ceremony was attended by the regional Akim, Marat Akhmetzhanov, the General Director of QazaqGaz Aimaq, Bauyrzhan Askarov, and local residents of Koyandy.

The Akim highlighted the importance of this infrastructure project, aimed at improving the quality of life for local communities.
"Under the President’s instruction, work is under way to supply natural gas to settlements surrounding Astana, connecting them to Phase 1 of the ‘Saryarqa’ pipeline. Today, Koyandy has finally received long-awaited gas supply. This is now the sixth settlement in the Tselinograd district to be connected to the centralised system. As part of the project, 226 kilometres of distribution networks were built and 12 distribution stations installed. Natural gas is now available to 21,000 people, or 5,400 subscribers. In addition, households receiving targeted social and housing assistance will be supported with connection costs of up to 70 MCI,” he said.

Ualikhan Kymbatov, Director of the Astana production branch of QazaqGaz Aimaq, also emphasised:
"Natural gas offers significant advantages over other fuels and makes everyday life considerably easier. While it brings many benefits, safety must always remain the top priority when using gas."

The introduction of natural gas in Koyandy will not only improve living conditions but also create favourable opportunities for business development. The project is also expected to have a positive environmental impact.

Local resident Akatolla Abyshov was among the first to be connected to the new supply.
"Winters used to be tough — firewood, stoves, constant chores. Now the house is warm and life is much more convenient. I’d like to thank everyone who made this possible," he shared.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, natural gas has also been supplied to the villages of Nurlý, Shubar, Akkaiyn, Talapker, Ybyrai Altynsarin, as well as the town of Kosshy.
