The central office of JSC NC QazaqGaz held another meeting of the working group on gas supply to consumers and demand management in the autumn-winter period under the leadership of the company's chairman, Sanzhar Zharkeshov. The meeting was also attended by the top managers of subsidiaries and affiliates—JSC Intergas Central Asia and JSC QazaqGaz Aimaq—and heads of production branches via videoconferencing.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the group of companies' readiness for the heating season and other problematic issues. The agenda also included the status of flood relief at gas infrastructure facilities.
"Uninterrupted gas supply is a basic necessity that we must provide to the residents of Kazakhstan," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the head of the national company. The head also set a strict deadline for completing preparatory work.
Currently, preparatory work in JSC Intergas Central Asia is 82% complete. In QazaqGaz Aimaq, the action plan for preparing for the heating season has been completed by 74%. At the same time, Almaty, Astana, and Kyzylorda are the leaders among the regions - in these cities, readiness for the heating season reaches 79-84%.
"We started the action plan to prepare for the autumn-winter period in March, except for those areas that suffered from floods. To date, all the consequences in these areas have been eliminated, and there are no restrictions on gas transportation in these regions," said the head of QazaqGaz.
In addition to eliminating the consequences of floods, the company is also removing defects that appeared due to several earthquakes in the southern regions.
"With the support of ICA, using the DLS-Pergam vehicle, QazaqGaz Aimaq employees inspected 6,000 km of gas pipelines over 2.5 months. More than 150 serious defects were found, more than half of which were in the networks of local executive bodies. At the moment, all defects have been eliminated," said QazaqGaz Aimaq CEO Bauyrzhan Askarov.
It should be noted that the 2023-2024 heating season proceeded as usual: no severe accidents or emergencies were recorded at gas infrastructure facilities in Kazakhstan. This year, action plans were developed and approved, and reports on facility readiness are analyzed weekly.
