Almaty hosted the 33rd meeting of the Coordinating Committee on the operation of the Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan–China (TUKC) gas pipeline, bringing together more than 90 representatives of leading energy companies in the region, including CNPC, PetroChina, Turkmengaz, Uztransgaz and QazaqGaz.

Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz, Alibek Zhamauov, underlined the pipeline’s strategic importance for the countries of Central Asia and China. He noted that the project strengthens regional cooperation and energy security, adding that the outcomes of the meeting “will give fresh impetus to joint efforts and serve as a solid foundation for future collaboration.”

Discussions focused on gas transportation, the modernisation of compressor stations and the introduction of intelligent control systems. The meeting also featured the presentation of a project to establish an Expert Committee on Oil and Gas Pipelines under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The session concluded with the signing of a final protocol and a ceremonial handover of the committee’s flag. The next meeting will be held in China.
