Work to modernise the city’s engineering infrastructure continues. The Kyzylzhar-2 residential area has now been connected to the natural gas network, with 265 households linked during the first phase. The second phase of the project is scheduled for next year, which will extend the necessary infrastructure to the remaining part of Kyzylzhar-2.

In addition, preparations are under way for the construction of a fifth automated gas distribution station, which will help ensure a stable gas supply across the city.

Overall, 2025 has seen large-scale gasification efforts across Shymkent’s residential districts. As a result of this coordinated work, natural gas has been supplied to five sites, providing access for 3,474 consumers across Dostyk (Phase 3), Zhuldyz, Zhalyn, Karabastau, the area between Turan and Qaitpas, and Kyzylzhar-2. The total length of newly built gas pipelines amounted to 95.8 km.

At the end of 2024, the Shymkent Production Branch of JSC QazaqGaz Aimaq began supplying commercial gas volumes to the Chinese investor Wan Sheng Ceramic, a ceramic products manufacturer with an annual demand exceeding 30 million m³. Actual consumption for the first ten months of 2025 reached 26 million m³, with an hourly usage of 3,500–4,000 m³.

In 2025, 42 industrial facilities in Shymkent were connected to the gas distribution system, including the ALSERA KZgreenhouse complex, located on a 200-hectare site and expected to consume up to 100 million m³ of gas annually, with an hourly demand of 2,000–3,500 m³.

A further 323 public and commercial facilities and 10,223 household consumers were also connected.
