During a working visit to the region, Asylzhan Dauletov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Exploration and Prospective Projects at QazaqGaz National Company, visited several facilities of the Amangeldy production branch of QazaqGaz Exploration & Production LLP.

Construction and installation works are currently under way as part of the modernisation of the Gas Treatment Unit (GTU) at the Amangeldy field.

Works are also progressing at the Anabay and Barkhannaya fields. At Anabay, the Gas Gathering Unit (GGU) and new wells No. 20 and No. 19, each with a design depth of 3,500 metres, as well as the facilities for developing well No. 17, were inspected. The technological processes of the GGU, the current status of works, and the operating flow rates of the wells were discussed.

At the Barkhannaya field, the repair team is working on well B-5, with plans for its reactivation.
In addition, an inspection of construction and installation works was carried out at the Barkhannaya GGU site. Following the visit, Mr Dauletov issued a number of instructions to the contractor, including the completion of the “Barkhannaya Field Development and Gas Pipeline Construction” project by December of this year.

This year, the company has drilled 11 wells, including four at the Anabay field, three at Amangeldy, three at Ayrakty and one at Barkhannaya. Of these, seven wells have already been brought into production. The drilled stock includes three appraisal wells and eight production wells. Appraisal well OC-1, drilled at the Ayrakty field, enabled the refinement of parameters of the Permian reservoir; testing yielded a commercial gas flow of up to 90 thousand m³/day with a 13 mm choke.

Furthermore, this year at the Amangeldy field, project wells No. 142 with a flow rate of 30 thousand m³/day and No. 143 with a flow rate of 58 thousand m³/day were commissioned, both exceeding the design rate of 20 thousand m³/day.

At the Ayrakty field, well No. 108 has been brought into production, delivering 22 thousand m³/day with a 7 mm choke.

At present, perforation and subsequent well completion operations are planned for well No. 20 at the Anabay field.
