Industrial safety

The process of ensuring emergency preparedness and response to them at NC QazaqGaz JSC is carried out in accordance with legal requirements and internal regulatory documents.

Risk assessment in the field of emergency response is governed by the Documented Procedure “Identification of hazardous hazardous production factors, risk assessment and establishment of control measures.” According to the document, the Company identifies and assesses risks in the field of emergency situations based on three approaches: - using relevant operating data of the Company’s facilities to determine the frequency with which these events occurred in the past, and, based on this, determining estimates of the frequency with which they will happen in the future; -prediction of event frequencies using such technical techniques as analysis of a diagram of all possible consequences of a system malfunction or accident (“fault tree”) and analysis of a diagram of the possible consequences of a given event (“event tree”); -use of expert opinion.

In accordance with the Emergency Response Plans, QazaqGaz NC JSC operates a three-level emergency response structure:

Level 1 – incident/environmental pollution, the consequences of which are eliminated at the site or facility by the responsible Line Manager using his own resources;

Level 2 – an incident/environmental pollution, the impact of which is limited within the facility, but there is a threat of the impact spreading beyond the facility, is eliminated by the employees of QazaqGaz NC JSC or by attracting additional support resources;

Level 3 – incident/environmental pollution, to eliminate the consequences of which the Company’s resources are insufficient and requires the activation of an emergency management group to attract public and private emergency services.
